It’s time for the series finale between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Yankees, which serves as a nice appetizer for a critical Golden State Warriors games, for dedicated Bay Area sports fans (and for those missing Dave Flemming, you can also throw on The Masters and hear him).

With a win, the Giants will take their fourth series of the season. With a loss, they’ll lose their second season. I vote for the former.

They’ve got their ace on the mound, as Logan Webb takes the bump for the fourth time this season. He’s been sensational this year, with a 1-0 record, a 1.89 ERA, a 1.94 FIP, and 21 strikeouts to three walks in 19 innings. He pitched seven shutout innings against the Cincinnati Reds in his last start, while striking out 10.

He’s up against a former teammate, as lefty Carlos Rodón takes the mound for the Yankees. Rodón, who spent a sensational 2022 with the Giants, is making his fourth start, and it’s been a tough beginning to the year for him. He’s 1-2 with a 5.19 ERA, a 4.49 FIP, and 20 strikeouts to nine walks in 17.1 innings. He got roughed up in his last start, giving up six runs (five earned) in six innings against the Detroit Tigers.

Enjoy the game! Go Giants!
