
Power rankings are generally idiotic, as former Mets GM Zack Scott astutely pointed out on X recently. But at the moment, they may be somewhat instructive.
In the one and only power rankings I’m ever going to do, my top five are National League teams. Even if you have love for some AL team, it’s clear how much better the NL is overall — at least at the top.
One GM notes the “imbalance is real,” and 29 others must see it, too. That imbalance was a frequent conversation topic throughout a winter where players like Juan Soto and Corbin Burnes moved to the NL from the AL.
