After losing Jimmy Butler to injury, it looked like the Warriors would have a tough time in Game 3 of the series. Instead, Stephen Curry reminded everyone why he’s one of the best in the world, scoring 36 points to go with seven rebounds, nine assists, and two blocks to help Golden State win 104-93. The Warriors rallied defensively behind Draymond Green, holding the Rockets to just 39.5% shooting from the field for the game and 33.3% in the deciding fourth quarter. For Game 4, Butler is listed as day-to-day and will be a game-time decision.
The Rockets were feeling much better about their chances after a Game 2 throttling of the Warriors (109-94) that evened the series 1-1, but fell completely flat late in Game 3 when they had a chance to steal homecourt back. Houston held an 84-83 lead with 5:47 left in the game, before missed shots and untimely turnovers ruined any hope they had of a victory. Five Rockets scored in double figures for the game, led by Fred VanVleet’s 17 points and Alperen Sengun’s 15.
