It’s on to the Eastern Conference semifinals for the second year running for the Indiana Pacers.
Indiana dispatched of the Milwaukee Bucks in five games, completing the job Tuesday in improbable fashion.
After the technicals, shoving and postgame nonsense, the Pacers can put the Bucks in the rearview mirror and turn their attention to a team that will require all of it: the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers.
Cleveland, who went 64-18 in the regular season, is fresh off a first round sweep of Miami, in which their combined +122 margin of victory is the highest in NBA history. So yeah, they’re good.
The game dates for the No. 4 seed Pacers’ NBA Eastern Conference semifinals with the No. 1 seed Cavaliers have been determined though times and television broadcasts have not yet been determined, a league source told IndyStar on Wednesday.
Game 1 and 2 will be played in Cleveland on Sunday, May 4 and Tuesday May 6. Games 3 and 4 will be in Indianapolis on May 9 and May 11. Among the if-necessary games, Game 5 will be May 13 in Cleveland, Game 6 will be May 15 in Indianapolis and Game 7 will be May 18 in Cleveland.
The No. 2 seed Boston Celtics have advanced to the semifinals on the other side of the bracket, beating the No. 7 Orlando Magic in five games. The No. 3 seed New York Knicks hold a 3-2 series lead on the No. 6 Detroit Pistons in the remaining first-round series still being played with the winner advancing to play the Celtics.
Sunday.
