After helping lead the Cavaliers to a 64-win season and the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley were both further recognized as two of the league’s best.
Mitchell was named to the All-NBA First Team and Mobley secured a spot on the All-NBA Second Team, as announced on TNT on Friday, May 23. It was Mitchell’s first selection for the first team and Mobley’s first for an All-NBA team of any kind.
Mitchell was joined on the All-NBA First Team by MVP winner Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, MVP runner-up Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum.
In doing so, Mitchell became the first Cavs player to be named to the All-NBA First Team since LeBron James in 2017-18 and the first non-James Cavalier to earn the honor since Mark Price in 1992-1993.
Mobley was joined on the second team by Jalen Brunson, Steph Curry, Anthony Edwards and James — his 21st consecutive season being named to an All-NBA team.
Mitchell and Mobley became the third pair of Cavs teammates to earn All-NBA honors in the same season, joining James and Kyrie Irving in 2014-15 and Price and Brad Daugherty in 1992-93.
The third team included Cade Cunningham, Tyrese Haliburton, James Harden, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Williams.
