The Boston Red Sox will be without another important arm moving forward.

Boston made several roster moves before Sunday’s series finale against the Atlanta Braves, headlined by Justin Slaten heading to the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.

The Red Sox called up Luis Guerrero to fill the bullpen void. Boston also swapped bench options with outfielder Nate Eaton up from Triple-A Worcester and optioned Nick Sogard.

Boston also designated catcher Blake Sabol for assignment.

The Red Sox bullpen threw a lot of innings in May with rather frequent use that may be showing signs of catching up to them. Slaten goes to the IL with a 3.47 ERA on the season as one of Boston’s go-to leverage arms.
