Listen, friends. Let’s just have a little reminder here.
There were a few things floating around on social media yesterday talking about players like Jarren Duran being available for a trade if the Red Sox continue to fall down the standings this season. While that might be possible later on, it’s best to remember that crafting silly trades is just that, silly. At no point would the Red Sox part with Duran and Aroldis Chapman in a deal that involves Brandon Marsh. Team control rules all, even if the player in question like Duran has been a bit worse than his All-Star season of a year ago. That appearance has set the bar for what he can be and the Red Sox will likely value him accordingly.
Don’t go nutty with the crafting of “ideal” trades. Whatever deal you come up with is likely not enough.
On to the links.
