Boston Red Sox rookie Hunter Dobbins made headlines on Saturday, sparking quite the firestorm by giving his true thoughts on the New York Yankees.
I mean, seriously, we even wrote about it.
Dobbins, for the uninitiated, dropped in all-time quote when he said that he’d rather retire than ever play for his club’s fiercest rival. It’s probably a bit strong of a take for a rookie, but no one was going to take it to heart, right?
Wrong.
Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. saw the quote and seemingly took offense, posting a response on Instagram — “FREE SMOKE, SEE YA AT 7.”

Chisholm has never been one to bite his tongue, notably making a big deal out of his willingness to switch positions amid Rafael Devers’ refusal to do so for Boston. It’s not like he isn’t able to back it up, either, having already homered in this series and serving as one of the hottest bats in baseball since his return from the injured list.
The Red Sox and Yankees will play the rubber match of their series at Yankee Stadium on Sunday Night Baseball, as the outspoken infielder said, with first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.
