Update: This roster move is official. Nate Eaton has been recalled.

SEATTLE — Nate Eaton is en route here to Seattle and is expected to arrive before pitch to take Rafael Devers’ spot on the Red Sox active roster.

The Red Sox and Mariners will play the first game of a three-game series Monday at 9:40 p.m. eastern. here at T-Mobile Field.

Devers was sent to the San Francisco Giants in a shocking blockbuster trade Sunday in exchange for pitchers Jordan Hicks and Kyle Harrison as well as prospects James Tibbs III and Jose Bello.

Eaton has spent one game on the active roster this season after Boston selected his contract from Triple-A Worcester on June 1. He was optioned back to WooSox the next day.

Outfielder Wilyer Abreu is expected be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday when the Red Sox play in San Francisco. So it’s likely Eaton’s stay on the active will be no more than three games.

He has batted .274 with a .357 on-base percentage, .453 slugging percentage, .810 OPS, seven homers, 19 doubles, one triple, 35 RBIs, 43 runs, 26 walks and 61 strikeouts in 64 games for Worcester.

He has made starts at all three outfield positions as well as third base, shortstop and second base.
