The National Hockey League’s 32 franchises unveiled their respective nominees Wednesday for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, presented each season to the player who best exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.

Among the 32 finalists includes the NHL’s all-time leading goal scorer Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty, who missed 47 games this season due to an ankle fracture, and Minnesota Wild veteran goaltender and three-time Stanley Cup champion Marc-Andre Fleury who will call it a career at the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign.

Atlantic Division: Joonas Korpisalo, Boston Bruins; Jason Zucker, Buffalo Sabres; Patrick Kane, Detroit Red Wings; Jesper Boqvist, Florida Panthers; Josh Anderson, Montreal Canadiens; David Perron, Ottawa Senators; Ryan McDonagh, Tampa Bay Lightning; John Tavares, Toronto Maple Leafs.

Central Division: Pat Maroon; Chicago Blackhawks; Gabriel Landeskog, Colorado Avalanche; Jason Robertson, Dallas Stars; Marc-Andre Fleury, Minnesota Wild; Nick Blankenburg, Nashville Predators; Ryan Suter, St. Louis Blues; Mikhail Sergachev, Utah Hockey Club; Neal Pionk, Winnipeg Jets.

Metropolitan Division: Jordan Staal, Carolina Hurricanes; Sean Monahan, Columbus Blue Jackets; Jesper Bratt, New Jersey Devils; Mike Reilly, New York Islanders; Jonny Brodzinski, New York Rangers; Ivan Fedotov, Philadelphia Flyers; Boko Imama, Pittsburgh Penguins; Alex Ovechkin, Washington Capitals.

Pacific Division: John Gibson, Anaheim Ducks; Justin Kirkland, Calgary Flames; Calvin Pickard, Edmonton Oilers; Drew Doughty, Los Angeles Kings; Marc-Edouard Vlasic, San Jose Sharks; Jaden Schwartz, Seattle Kraken; Dakota Joshua, Vancouver Canucks; Tomas Hertl, Vegas Golden Knights.

The Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy was first presented in 1967. Last season, Utah goaltender Connor Ingram (then of the former Arizona Coyotes) was presented with the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy following a long battle with obsessive compulsive disorder and depression that led him to seek help from the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.
