Baseball America released its June edition of its Top 100 MLB Prospect rankings today. Carrying over from the May update is New York Mets prospect infielder Jett Williams at No. 59 and righty Nolan McLean at No. 69. The June update also featured two new Mets additions in righty Jonah Tong at No. 95 and infielder Ronny Mauricio at No. 99. Both additions received votes in Baseball America’s preseason Top 100 prospects rankings, with Mauricio being included in the 15 prospects Who Just Missed the list.
Jett Williams, 21, continued to shake off his rust from an injury-shortened 2024. While his OPS dropped to .830 in May, coming off of a .863 in April, his OBP increased from .355 to .398, and he stole six more bases. On the year, he’s hitting .266/.370/.443/813 with 17 steals.
Williams has seen most of his defensive action at shortstop (33 games), but he has played some center (six games) and one at second base.
McLean, 23, continued his rise up the rankings after his promotion to Triple-A Syracuse. He’s showing no signs of slowing down, pitching to a 2.63 ERA and 1.207 WHIP over 27 1/3 innings in the hitter-friendly International League.

Top 100 Additions
Jonah Tong, 21, officially took his place in the rankings at No. 95 after a dominant May. He cruised to a 1.35 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 42 strikeouts over 26 innings in Double-A Binghamton. In total, he’s pitching to a 2.25 ERA, 1.068 WHIP, 4.7 H/9, 4.9 BB/9, and a 14.7 K/9 over 44 IP. His performance in May earned him back-to-back Eastern League Pitcher of the Week honors.
Mauricio was a mainstay on Baseball America’s Top 100 prospect pre-season rankings from 2020 all the way through 2024. He was understandably absent on the 2025 preseason rankings after missing all of 2024 due to a torn ACL.
However, he’s taken off after reaching Triple-A Syracuse in rehab. Albeit in only nine games, Mauricio had been torching opposing pitchers to a line of .515/.564/.818/1.382. The 24-year-old has swiped four bags and walked as often as he’s struck out. While the sample size is small, Mauricio earned a call-up to the bigs to help the club after Mark Vientos went down with a hamstring strain.
Top 100 Omissions
Two notable omissions are pre-season top 100 prospects Jesus Baez and Brandon Sproat. Baez fell off the rankings in the last update after a rough April but has since caught fire in May, hitting .341/.456/.537/.993 in 103 plate appearances. His torrid month saw him earn South Atlantic League Player of the Week honors.
Sproat, after a solid but underwhelming April, has continued to struggle. He has now fallen off of the top 100 completely after falling to the 99th spot in the May update. In May, he took the mound five times and sported a 6.56 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 23 1/3 innings. His continued inability to miss bats at the Triple-A level is even more concerning. In 75 innings in Syracuse, Sproat owns a 6.6 K/9 rate. A rate which is significantly lower than his over 11 K/9 rate in his previous 87 2/3 innings between High-A and Double-A in 2024.
