
Red Sox prospect Zach Ehrhard went 5-for-5 with a three-run home run, five RBIs and two walks to lead High-A Greenville to a 9-6 win over Hub City on Wednesday afternoon.
MassLive ran a feature story Wednesday morning on Ehrhard who the Red Sox drafted twice (2021 and ’24). The 22-year-old outfielder is batting .340 with a .464 on-base percentage, .450 slugging percentage, .914 OPS, one home run, eight doubles, 19 RBIs, 20 runs, 23 walks, 26 strikeouts and seven stolen bases in 28 games (125 plate appearances).
“I’m definitely a more contact, bat-to-ball oriented guy,” Ehrhard said. “And with the Red Sox, they’re trying to help me kinda step into more of the power that I have — that I know I have.”

~ Righty Josh Winckowski was placed on Triple-A Worcester‘s 7-day injured list (retroactive to May 13) with right elbow inflammation.
~ Nelly Taylor went 2-for-3 with a walk, double, three runs and one strikeout in Greenville’s win. The 22-year-old outfield prospect is batting .286 with a .407 on-base percentage, .449 slugging percentage, .856 OPS, two home runs, eight doubles, one triple, 12 RBIs, 21 runs, 19 walks, 29 strikeouts and 11 stolen bases in 27 games (118 plate appearances). ~ Marcelo Mayer went 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs, one walk and one strikeout in Worcester’s 8-4 win over Buffalo. The 22-year-old is batting .282 with a .350 on-base percentage, .500 slugging percentage, .850 OPS, eight homers, five doubles, one triple, 39 RBIs, 26 runs, 15 walks and 30 strikeouts in 36 games (160 plate appearances). Baseball America ranks Mayer No. 9 on its Top 100 list.
~ Roman Anthony, Baseball America’s No. 1 overall prospect, went 2-for-3 with two walks, one run and one strikeout in the WooSox’ win. The 21-year-old is batting .306 with a .428 on-base percentage, .478 slugging percentage, .906 OPS, five homers, six doubles, one triple, 17 RBIs, 27 runs, 30 walks and 35 strikeouts in 37 games (166 plate appearances).
~ Yoeilin Cespedes went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and one run in Low-A Salem’s 4-2 loss to Charleston. The 19-year-old shortstop is batting .250 with a .304 on-base percentage, .440 slugging percentage, .744 OPS, two home runs, nine doubles, two triples, 13 RBIs, 13 runs, nine walks and 30 strikeouts in 25 games (112 plate appearances). He’s 13-for-38 (.342) with a .422 on-base percentage, .605 slugging percentage, two homers and four doubles in 10 games in May. Baseball America ranks Boston’s No. 6 prospect.
