As expected, the Atlanta Braves announced Thursday that outfielder Alex Verdugo has been recalled and fellow outfielder Bryan De La Cruz has been optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Verdugo has yet to make his 2025 debut. He’s spent his season in Gwinnett so far, where he’s logged nine games and hit .207. He’s split his time between left and right field.

As for De La Cruz, he’s produced just a .191 batting average in 16 games. He’s primarily taken over for the Braves in left field, where he’s already logged 90 innings.

Hopefully, the move will serve the Braves right and Alex Verdugo brings his bat to Atlanta.
