This video popped up on my Instagram feed a few days ago.
Kobe Bryant is highly considered one of the most competitive players of his generation. You know who else played during his generation? Tim Duncan. While Duncan’s demeanor was often mild-mannered, his competitive edge was just as sharp as the Black Mamba’s.
Both players spent their entire careers with one team. Kobe lasted 20 seasons, Duncan played 19. The entirety of the careers they faced one another in the pursuit of NBA dominance.
At the same time, they were mutually respectful of one another’s talents.
Case in point:
As you can see, they are fighting to the very end, both unrelenting. But the moment the play stops, they help one another up and prepare for the next battle.
