After the Dodgers held on for a one-run win Wednesday night to complete a sweep of the Rockies, here are some stories for your perusal to begin your off day.

The Dodgers were rated to have the top front office in Major League Baseball, in a survey of 40 executives within the sport by The Athetic. Tyler Kepner wrote the accompanying piece to go with the rankings. The Dodgers received 23 first-place votes, though were also left off the top five on five ballots. From Kepner:

“They manage their roster so well,” said an AL GM. “Sometimes it feels like they have 60 guys on the 40-man roster. I don’t know how they do it. It’s not just that they have money, but I think they’re constantly making good decisions. I know people love to criticize them, but they’re not breaking any rules. If any of us were in the same position they’re in, we’d do the same thing.”

Tyler Glasnow was a guest on the Starkville podcast at The Athletic, and was asked about the Dodgers organizational culture.

“It’s a mix of the best possible things to become a better baseball player plus the longevity of culture and keeping a team together,” Glasnow said. “It’s the best of everything, and a very comforting, family atmosphere. Everyone’s very comfortable with each other, and it’s a great feeling to be a part of.”

If you were at Dodger Stadium on the homestand, you might have seen a hard copy of Dodger Insider magazine. Within its pages is a profile of Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

“If you talk to not just me, everybody, we trust him,” first baseman Freddie Freeman told Cary Osborne of Dodger Insider. “And I think that’s the key to this whole thing, is trust in Doc. He trusts us, and we trust him. We won last year because of that and it’s because of Doc.”
