Former Red Sox pitcher Quinn Priester took a no-decision in his Brewers debut Thursday.

Priester allowed one run, six hits (one homer) and two walks while striking out four in Milwaukee’s 7-2 loss to the Rockies in Denver.

Boston traded the 24-year-old righty to Milwaukee on Monday for outfield prospect Yophery Rodriguez, a Competitive Balance Round A pick (33rd overall) in the 2025 Draft and a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Priester threw 29 sinkers, topping out at 95.1 mph and averaging 93.9 mph, per Statcast. He topped out at 95.2 mph with his 21 cutters and 96.1 mph with his four four-seam fastballs. He also mixed in nine sliders, seven changeups and two curveballs.

Priester worked hard in the offseason to gain 10 pounds. He consumed 4,000-5,000 calories a day. Boston initially acquired the righty ahead of the 2024 trade deadline in a 1-for-1 swap of former first-rounders that sent Nick Yorke to Pittsburgh.

Priester competed during spring training for a spot in the Red Sox’ Opening Day starting rotation. But Richard Fitts and Sean Newcomb beat him out for the final two spots. He began the 2025 season with Triple-A Worcester.

Rodriguez, 19, is 2-for-7 with a triple, double, two walks and three strikeouts in two games for High-A Greenville so far.
