How will severe storm threat impact your plans for Game 2 of the NBA Finals?

It is a big day in Oklahoma City with Game 2 of the NBA Finals tipping off tonight at the Paycom Center.

ALL RIGHT. THREE, TWO, ONE. GOOD SUNDAY. A METEOROLOGIST, JOSEPH NEUBAUER. IT IS A BIG DAY WITH GAME TWO OF THE NBA FINALS. LOTS OF SPORTS GOING ON. WE ALSO HAVE LOTS OF STORM POTENTIAL IN THE FORECAST. THUNDER UP IN THE PARK, FOR EXAMPLE, THAT STARTS AT FOUR. IT’S ACTUALLY BEEN MOVED UP TO NOON. AND THAT’S A GOOD THING TOO, BECAUSE I THINK YOU CAN HEAD DOWN THERE TO THE PAYCOM DOWNTOWN AND IT’S GOING TO BE WARM HOT IN THE UPPER 80S, LOWER 90S, BUT RELATIVELY STORM CLEAR BY THE END OF THE EVENT. YOU’RE GETTING REALLY INTO THE PREGAME NOW AT LIKE FIVE, SIX, 7:00. THAT’S WHEN THE FORECAST IS GOING TO START TO DETERIORATE A LOT LIKE IT DID ON GAME ONE ON THURSDAY. BEFORE THE GAME STARTED. IT WAS REALLY STORMY. IT’S A PATTERN, JUST LIKE THAT FIVE, SIX, 7:00. AND THEN INTO THE EVENING. WE HAVE SEVERE POTENTIAL AND VERY HIGH CHANCES FOR RAIN. YOU CAN SEE THE RED PANELS ARE ON BECAUSE WE HAVE THE RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER. SO AS WE LOOK AT PREDICTOR DATA, LATEST UPDATE HAS OUR STORMS GOING UP WELL TO THE NORTHWEST OF THE METRO DURING THE EARLY AFTERNOON. SO THUNDER UP IN THE PARK. ANY PREGAME YOU WANT TO GO TO, ANY FESTIVITIES OF THAT NATURE? YOU’LL BE GOOD HERE IN THE METRO. BUT AS WE HIT THE 5:00 HOUR, THAT’S WHEN SOME OF THESE STORMS WILL START TO MAYBE MAKE A RUN INTO THE METRO. THE BIG ACTION OUT IN WESTERN OKLAHOMA THAT DOES NOT GET TO THE METRO UNTIL THE GAME IS ONGOING AFTER TIPOFF. SO ANY POST GAME DURING THE GAME, IT’S GOING TO BE REAL STORMY. MAKE SURE YOU’RE SITTING TIGHT. YOU KNOW YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS ARE YOUR KIDS YOURSELF. AN ACTION PLAN WILL BE GOOD FOR A DAY LIKE THIS, BECAUSE REALLY POWERFUL STORMS ARE GOING TO BE MOVING ACROSS THE STATE, ESPECIALLY ON THE SOUTH END OF THE STATE, DOWN INTO SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTH TEXAS. ONE LAST LOOK AT THAT PREDICTOR RUN. YOU CAN SEE A FEW CELLS AS EARLY AS 4 OR 5:00. SO WE’RE GETTING TOWARDS PREGAME NOW. TIPOFF IS TWO HOURS AWAY. WE HAVE SOME STORMS IN AND AROUND THE METRO. SO IF YOU HAVE A TICKET FIRST OF ALL JEALOUS. BUT BE REALLY CAREFUL IF YOU’RE OUT THERE WAITING BECAUSE THERE WILL BE SOME STORMS THAT COULD GO UP OUR FIRST ROUND, SO TO SPEAK. DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. AND THEN ONCE THE GAME KICKS OFF, THAT’S WHEN OUR SECOND ROUND, A BIG SQUALL LINE STARTS TO MOVE IN DURING THE GAME. AND THIS IS WHERE WE RUN INTO WIND POTENTIAL. TORNADO POTENTIAL. IT IS JUST A VERY, VERY STORMY EVENING. EVEN AS THE GAME IS LETTING OUT WITH THE THUNDER WIND AT 11:00 PM. ONGOING STORMS, ESPECIALLY DOWN SOUTH ON I-35. KEEP IT HERE ON KOCO FIVE AS STORMS ARE ONGOING THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. YOU CAN FIND YOUR LATEST UPDATE FROM CHIEF METEOROLOGIST DAMON LANE. HE’LL BE LIVE HE
