On Sunday afternoon, the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins prepare to wrap up their three-game weekend series.
While the Tigers had been using their bats to win their way out of some games early on this year, they utilized excellent pitching in the second game of the series in Minneapolis. Jackson Jobe had arguably one of his best starts in the major leagues, striking out two, with his defense helping him hold the Twins to just two hits in six scoreless innings.
Timely hits, including a two-run home run from Spencer Torkelson in the sixth inning powered Detroit to a 4-0 win, giving the team seven wins in its last eight games. Torkelson and Kerry Carpenter each had two hits in the win.
