Only one spot remains in the first round of the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs, as two teams get set to do battle on Friday night.
The Hawks are looking to rebound after getting walloped by the Orlando Magic in the opening game of the Play-In Tournament, losing 120-95. The team is in the postseason for the fifth straight season, though this is the second straight season the team has been forced to play in the Play-In. Last year, as the 10-seed, they lost to the Chicago Bulls. After finishing behind the Magic in the Southeast, Atlanta hopes it can move on to the actual playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons.

The Heat have been making the Play-In Tournament a thing. After finishing with the East’s best record in 2021-22, Miami has been in the first stage of the postseason. Yet, they have qualified for the playoffs as the eight-seed, famously advancing to the NBA Finals in 2023.
They advanced to the “final” by beating the Chicago Bulls in the Play-In for the third time in a row.
