A pivotal Game 4 in the NBA playoffs takes place on Sunday as the Los Angeles Lakers face a tough road test against the Minnesota Timberwolves, with Minnesota holding a two-games-to-one series lead.
With Luka Doncic hobbled due to a stomach bug, the Lakers fell 116-104 in Game 3 in Minnesota, despite LeBron James, at 40 years old, playing 41 minutes, scoring 38 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out four assists. James continues to win his battle against Father Time in impressive fashion. The story of the game, however, was how well Minnesota played in a pivotal Game 3 at home. Leading the way for the Timberwolves in the victory was star 2-guard Anthony Edwards, who had 29 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.
Jaden McDaniels also had a big performance for Minnesota. The young forward, who possesses two-way capabilities, had an offensive explosion in Game 3, scoring 30 points and grabbing five rebounds. Former Laker Julius Randle also had a great showing, as the former Kentucky standout scored 22 points while securing five rebounds against his former team.
If you are a Lakers fan, you might feel better about your chances in Game 4 if you consider the fact that Doncic is likely feeling better today, along with it being unlikely McDaniels, a defensive-minded player, has another 30-point explosion. Plus, Game 3 was close late in the fourth quarter until the Wolves pulled away in the final minutes.
