While Lakers head coach JJ Redick was quick to point out the referee’s decisions, the most notable choice was his insistence on not substituting players in the second half of Game 4. With the Lakers in control, leading by 10 heading to the fourth quarter, Redick chose to stick with the same five players that had just played the entire third quarter. The result was a late Timberwolves run and an inability to secure key stops down the stretch, sealing the game.
LeBron James had a fantastic game with 27 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, three steals, and three blocks, but it was his turnover with 30 seconds left and then a foul with 10 seconds left that sealed the Lakers’ fate.
It’s hard to recall, but the Timberwolves were just 32-29 heading into the month of March. Since then, they’ve won 20 of their last 25 and have taken the star-studded tandem of James and Luka Doncic to the brink of elimination.
Edwards was the star in Game 4, scoring 43 points to go with nine rebounds and six assists, making 5-of-10 3-pointers and 14-of-17 free-throw attempts. Julius Randle added 25, with Jaden McDaniels scoring 16 to go with 11 rebounds.
This is a great NBA matchup that will not disappoint; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
