This is the time of year when I have two options:

(1) Start watching baseball, or

(2) Start rooting against NBA teams in the postseason.

San Antonio is not a huge baseball town, but we do love our Missions, which is a San Diego Padres AA team.

More than likely, I’ll watch the NBA playoffs. Every year I say I won’t and by the Conference Finals I’m vested in some form or fashion.

In the past I find myself rooting against one team as opposed to rooting for. That said, I was rooting for the Boston Celtics last year because I still have a warm spot for Derrick White and I really can appreciate most of the players and coaching staff in Beantown.

But for now, I’ll start with my general disdain for the Play-In Tournament. It has no value other than getting fans to watch a couple more games. The year a tenth place team wins the whole thing, I’ll change my opinion.

I will say that as we move into the postseason I will comment on each team and game and who I am rooting for, or more likely against.

For today, the Spurs play their final game of the season against the Raptors, both of whom have been eliminated.

Go Spurs Go! (one last time for the year).
