The Golden State Warriors were able to get the job done in Game 3, positioning themselves with a 2-1 lead heading into Game 4 with a chance to take a 3-1 lead, which would best set them up for a chance at advancing. On a night when Warriors star Steph Curry wasn’t nearly as effective as he is, Golden State looked elsewhere.
After being sidelined during Game 3 and most of Game 2, Jimmy Butler returned to the court for Golden State and put on a stellar performance that helped lead them to a 109-106 win over the Houston Rockets. However, Butler’s performance wasn’t just great, as what he did put himself in the same conversation as arguably the best to ever do it.

Butler tied NBA legend Michael Jordan in the most playoff games all-time with 25 or more points, five or more assists, five or more rebounds, and zero turnovers. One of the greatest playoff performers of all-time in Jordan, Butler continues to etch his name in playoff history after stellar runs with the Miami Heat.
While Jordan has the edge over Butler in other playoff categories, most notably having six rings to Butler’s zero, Butler’s play in Monday’s win shows he’s hungrier than ever to chase that first championship. With Warriors stars Draymond Green and Curry seeking a fifth, Butler’s addition might just be what they need to get there.
