Kyrie Irving is urging NBA fans to cool it with the Karl-Anthony Towns jokes.

During a recent Twitch stream, the Dallas Mavericks star called on everyone to watching to please “stop making fun of my brother KAT,” though he later acknowledged that he considers some of what’s been said as of late to fall under the “funny” category.

“Y’all gotta stop making fun of my brother KAT,” Kyrie said, as seen in the clip below. “I’m done with y’all. Stop making fun of my brother KAT. it’s over for that. It’s a fucking wrap. I’m letting y’all know, if you repost that shit again or meme him up, I’m attacking you.”

From there, Kyrie clarified that any such attack would not be physical in nature, though he sounded serious about his proposal for a moratorium on any KAT jokes.

“Y’all don’t know what it’s like to grow up in Jersey and have all of these cultures that you’re a part of,” he added. “Trust me on that. Jersey is literally 130 miles long. It is a very, very small state.”

Simplifying his request, Kyrie said, “Leave him alone.” He also reiterated the Jersey aspect of it all, noting the “many different demographics of people” in the region.

“He’s Dominican, he’s Black, he grew up in a certain area in Jersey just like me,” he said. “You gotta survive out here. And you have many different demographics of people so you gotta survive out here. I don’t agree all the time when he be changing up his tone sometimes. I don’t always agree and all that shit. That shit be funny. But on a serious note, he is a man, he’s my brother, and I protect him all the time.”

Back in February, Nick Young tucked in an impression of KAT’s voice in an episode of Gil’s Arena. The New York Knicks player has also been playfully chided over what Charles Barkley recently described as his “dumb fouls.”

As for the Knicks, fans are still in heartbreak mode after the team was eliminated from the Eastern Conference finals by the Indiana Pacers.
