A short clip of LeBron James dancing whilst quite impressively spilling none of his drink has some NBA fans in quasi-detective mode.

As shown in the clip below, which was still making the rounds as of Tuesday morning, LeBron steadily keeps a drink in the air while letting the music steer his movements. The true origin of the footage wasn’t immediately clear, but that didn’t stop some fans from immediately bringing up LeBron’s recent injury.

As previously reported, LeBron cited a knee injury when announcing that he would not be in attendance at the 2025 Met Gala in New York. In a statement shared earlier this month, LeBron said he “[hated] to miss an historical event.”

Days before that statement, a source told the Associated Press that LeBron had sprained a ligament in his left knee during the Lakers’ last playoff game. At the time of the injury, LeBron, 40, was playing with the Lakers against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Per ESPN, LeBron suffered an MCL sprain during the game in question. Initial reporting noted that recovery time for such an injury was as short as three weeks and as long as five.

Below, get a glimpse at how some of the more chronically online NBA fans have reacted to the decidedly brief footage of LeBron dancing. As you may have guessed by now, many were quick to cite the aforementioned injury in their reactions to the dancing footage.

During an episode of his and Steve Nash’s Mind the Game podcast earlier this month, LeBron noted that this marked the “first knee injury” of his career.

“Four to six weeks, the docs told me,” LeBron said. “I have four to six weeks now.”

As LeBron explained at the time, he likely would have missed several games even if the Lakers had progressed.
