The SEC meetings are underway in Florida this week, as coaches and athletic directors from across the conference are attending to weigh in on issues related to their sports.
However, back in Lexington and the Bluegrass State, the BBN is waiting out the NBA Draft decision by Kentucky Wildcats rising senior guard Otega Oweh.
Entering the final hours before the withdrawal deadline, Darrell Bird of The Cats Pause got a chance to talk with Mark Pope in Florida about the decision Oweh has to make.
“We’re having conversations via text right now because I’m trying to give him as much space as I can.”
Pope continued and pointed to the main deciding factor in this decision.
“The most important thing is where his heart is. That’s really the most important thing. He’s had really good progress of his workouts, he’s getting incredible feedback that’s been really positive from teams. There is a space for him in that league at some point. So it’s going to be all about where his heart is.”
Pope also said that Oweh has one more Wednesday workout before making a decision.
With an already loaded roster, adding Oweh to the mix would put the Cats right in the argument for the best roster in the country.
We will have a decision soon, folks. Now we all just wait and see.
