PROVO, Utah Former BYU basketball guard Egor Demin is preparing for the NBA Combine, the next phase of the draft process.

The NBA Combine tips off on May 11 and goes until May 18 in Chicago.

It’s a big opportunity for Demin to climb draft boards again. At the beginning of BYU’s season last fall, Demin was garnering buzz as a top-10 pick. Heading into Chicago this week for the Combine, Demin is anywhere from the end of the Lottery to the high teens.

Demin finished his one season at BYU with averages of 10.6 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds. He shot 41.2% from the field and 27.3% from three-point range.

Demin’s three-point shooting will likely be an area of focus during the Combine. The 6-foot-9 guard is one of the top passers in this year’s draft class.

Here’s a roundup of where some of the notable NBA Mock Drafts have Demin projected as he gears up to be one of the 75 players competing at the NBA Draft Combine next week.

Bleacher Report: No. 17 – Minnesota Timberwolves

How about some Demin lobs to Rudy Gobert?

CBS Sports: No. 18 – Washington Wizards

In this mock draft, Demin would team up with Rutgers standout Dylan Harper as Washington’s No. 2 pick.

ESPN.com: No. 12 – Chicago Bulls

One of the few projections that has Demin landing inside the NBA Lottery.

ESPN’s Jonathan Givony notes that Egor Demin “will be studied closely by every team drafting in this range with his outstanding positional size, feel for the game, playmaking prowess and long-term upside.”

The Ringer: No. 15 – Oklahoma City Thunder

J. Kyle Mann of The Ringer calls Demin “the Three-Eyed Raven” of the 2025 NBA draft class because of his ability to see everything at all times.

Tankathon: No. 15 – Oklahoma City Thunder

Demin to the Thunder feels like it would be an excellent landing spot for the former BYU Cougar.

Draft Digest: No. 18 – Washington Wizards

Another mock with the Wizards taking Dylan Harper at No. 2, then Demin at No. 18.

Yahoo!: No. 14 – San Antonio Spurs

Demin’s passing ability with Victor Wembanyama and in a backcourt with the reigning Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle would be fun to watch.
