However, he made his presence felt on the boards in Game 5 of a 2025 Western Conference first-round series against the Lakers, grabbing 24 rebounds over 39 minutes. Nine of those rebounds came on the offensive glass. The Timberwolves won the game, advancing to the next round.

The Timberwolves lost the game and went on to lose the series.

After taking down the Nuggets on the glass in the first round, Garnett continued to rack up rebounds in bunches in the Semifinals against the Kings. In Game 4 of the series, he finished with 21 rebounds over 45 minutes. The Timberwolves lost the game, which left the series tied at 2-2.
