Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart has been suspended for two games without pay for his role in an on-court altercation against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the NBA announced on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on Sunday when Naz Reid confronted rookie Ron Holland II following a foul call in the second quarter. Holland then shoved Donte DiVincenzo, and the three players fell into the spectator stands. Stewart and Marcus Sasser then entered and escalated the altercation.

The five players were issued technical fouls and ejected from the game. Holland, Sasser, Reid and DiVincenzo were each suspended for one game without pay.

Stewart received a two-game suspension compared to just one game for the other four players involved, based in part on his repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts. He previously served a one-game suspension earlier this season for accruing his sixth flagrant foul point.

Holland, the fifth pick in the NBA draft, will miss his first game of the season with the suspension. He is currently one of 13 players in the league to play in every game this season and leads all players in appearances off the bench (74).

Stewart will begin serving his suspension on Wednesday against Oklahoma City, while Reid and DiVincenzo will serve theirs on Tuesday against Denver. Holland and Sasser will also sit out on Wednesday.
