
The Celtics will be hosting a late night matchup against the Magic in Game 5 of their first-round series on Tuesday night. The NBA announced an 8:30 p.m. start time for the matchup at TD Garden after the Magic ensured a Game 5 would be necessary following a 95-93 win in Game 3 on Friday night. Game 5 will be broadcast on NBATV nationally and NBC Sports Boston has the local call.
The Celtics hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series with each team holding serve at home so far.
The Celtics will face off with the Magic against in Orlando for Game 4 on Sunday night with a 7 p.m. tip at the Kia Center. The two teams will head back to Boston at that point for Game 5 on Tuesday night. No tip times have been announced yet for a potential Game 6 or Game 7 (if necessary).
The NBA also announced the times of three other Game 5s on Tuesday night. The Pacers will host the Bucks with an early 6 p.m. tip as the first half of an NBATV doubleheader leading into the Celtics-Magic matchup. The Knicks-Pistons game will start at 7:30 p.m. from Madison Square Garden on TNT with the Clippers-Nuggets Game 5 being the TNT night cap beginning at 10 p.m.
