NBA Draft Tiebreaker Determines Jazz Second-Round Picks
The Jazz entered Monday awaiting the outcome on two separate second draft picks acquired in the Luka Doncic, Anthony Davis blockbuster swap in February.
The Mavericks’ pick was dependent on the outcome of a tiebreaker between Dallas and the Chicago Bulls, who both finished with identical 39-43 records.
Dallas won the tiebreaker, meaning they’ll own the 11th-best odds in the draft lottery while Chicago dropped to 12th.

The order of the second-round picks is the inverse of the first-round tiebreaker, which resulted in the Jazz landing the 43rd overall pick.
A more complicated tiebreaker was required for the Jazz’s second-round pick from the Los Angeles Lakers after they finished deadlocked with the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, and Indiana Pacers at 50 wins.
The four-team tiebreaker resulted in the Lakers winning the highest pick of the four, the Pacers falling to second, the Clippers dropping to third, and Denver finishing fourth.
As a result, the Jazz’s final selection of the 2025 draft will be the 53rd overall pick.
