Dwyane Wade on today’s NBA players
Dwyane Wade pushes back on claims that today’s players lack passion, praising their work and competitiveness.
The ping pong balls have been drawn and now we know the draft order.
The NBA Draft is a little more than a month away, and after Monday night, we’ve learned who lucked out or who saw their top pick drop.
Now it’s time to sort through the mess to figure out who goes where.
The Dallas Mavericks won the NBA Lottery Draft, so they’ll pick first and that really saves the franchise. After trading Luka Dončić before the trade deadline really took a bite out of the team’s future. This first overall pick could be the perfect tonic to that questionable deal.
Here’s what we think will happen on draft night.
When is the NBA Draft?
The NBA Draft will be held June 25 and 26.
NBA Mock Draft 2025
Here’s who we see going in the NBA lottery this year.
Dallas Mavericks
This is a no brainer. There’s no debate, book it. The Mavs will select the consensus top pick Cooper Flagg from Duke. If they bungle this after the Luka trade, they’re in real trouble.
Here’s where the draft starts. There are a few good selections here, but it’s likely the team will go with Dylan Harper. The Spurs already have a decent point guard, but with Harper’s upside, he’s the guy.
This team could either be really good or really bad depending on how injured the team is when the season starts. A good pick might be taking the best athlete out there, and that’s why Balor’s guard VJ Edgecombe makes the most sense here.
The franchise needs a lot, so they’ll probably go with the best player available and that’s Rutgers small forward Ace Bailey. Some have him as the second best prospect in the draft.
This will be an interesting pick. The Jazz have plenty of good options, but we’re going to go with a safe pick. The safest pick is Duke shooting guard Kon Knueppel. With his shooting and size, he’ll help the Jazz.
You’d think the Wizards would be good at drafting in the lottery since it’s something they do every year, and this year we’re finding them a star. Texas guard Tre Johnson would make a fine pick here.
The Pelicans need depth at center. Zion Williams is a great player but the injury concerns are always there. Here, we’ll pick a big who does different things that Williams. We’ll take Maryland center Derik Queen.
The Nets could use a lot and a big man is one of the spots their weak. Duke center Khaman Maluach still needs to work on his offensive game, but he’s a great defender that can really protect the rim.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors have an interesting lineup. The roster has some good players, so they can go boom or bust here. The best candidate for the Raptors would be dynamic point guard Jeremiah Fears from Indiana.
Houston Rockets
There are still star players on the board here and the Rockets will nab one in Kasparas Jakucionis. The big combo guard is a good shooter, a great playmaker and will only help Houston.
The Trailblazers need a forward who can do just about everything and there’s one sitting there in Collin Murray-Boyles from South Carolina. While he struggles from distance, he can score and has the makings of a great defender.
The Bulls still have enough talent to be good, but they need a difference maker. They could get one here in Michigan State guard Jase Richardson. A shade undersized, Richardson has the ability to score in bunches.
It’s hard to believe this team was in the Eastern Conference finals not that long ago. Now this staple of the lottery is back a year after having the top pick last year. This year, they’ll again go for upside and take 18-year-old Noa Essengue, from Ratiopharm Ulm.
San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs have a great center, a good guard and added a point guard with upside in with the second pick. Here, they’ll take Carter Bryant, an Arizona forward who can shoot and play multiple positions.
