Tucker initially signed with the Knicks in early March. The deal includes a team option for the 2025-26 season.

The 14-year NBA veteran has not played a key role in the playoffs for New York, but his leadership and playoff experience could be very valuable for the Knicks. Tucker has only appeared in one game for the Knicks, which came on March 19 against the San Antonio Spurs.
Tucker only played two minutes in that contest and did not record a stat.
Prior to joining the Knicks, he was with the Clippers and wanted to be with a new team. Ultimately, the Clippers traded him to the Toronto Raptors in a five-team trade, headlined by Jimmy Butler being shipped to the Warriors. On February 28, the Raptors waived him.

The 39-year-old last played meaningful minutes in May 2024, when the Clippers played the Dallas Mavericks in the first-round series.
In his career, Tucker holds averages of 6.6 points on 42.5 percent shooting from the field and 36.6 percent from three, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 883 games. He played a crucial role in helping the Milwaukee Bucks to their title in the 2020-21 season.
The Knicks are in a great spot and will look for a deep playoff run. Just before the calendar flips to April, they have a 47-27 record, which is good for the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
New York will likely remain in that spot. They have a four-game lead over the No. 4 seed Indiana Pacers and are eight games back of the No. 2 seed Boston Celtics.
As things stand, the Knicks will play the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs. Since Tucker joined the team, New York is 7-4 in 11 games.
