With their backs against the wall in a do-or-die Game 5 on Thursday night, the Knicks rallied for a 111-94 win to stave off elimination. New York performed at a high level in front of its home crowd at Madison Square Garden, swarming the Pacers on the defensive end of the court, allowing just one Indiana player (Pascal Siakam) to crack double figures in the loss. For the game, the Pacers shot just 40.5% as a team and committed 20 turnovers.

On the offensive end, Jalen Brunson hit 12 of 18 shots on his way to a game-high 32 points, and Karl-Anthony Towns netted 24 points and 13 boards to fuel the timely win. Josh Hart also delivered a double-double off the bench with 12 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
