The Indiana Pacers are now one win away from the 2025 NBA Finals. The Pacers held on for a 130-121 victory against the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday night. Tyrese Haliburton was stellar offensively all night. He finished with a triple-double with 32 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds. Haliburton was 11 of 23 from the floor, had four steals and did not turn the ball over.
Pascal Siakam added 30 points (11-21 FG, 3-4 3PT, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 35 minutes. The Pacers scored 43 first-quarter points in Game 4 after scoring 42 second-half points in the Game 3 loss and they shot 51.1% from the floor.
The Knicks were not able to repeat their Game 3 comeback after falling behind by double digits in the third quarter. Jalen Brunson had 31 points for New York but just two in the fourth quarter.
It is not a coincidence that Aaron Nesmith was plus-20 for Indiana. He did by far the best job of any of the Pacers’ perimeter defenders when it came to defending Brunson. In the first three games of the series, Bennedict Mathurin scored 11 points on 2-for-8 shooting in 40 minutes. Tonight, he scored 17 points on 5-for-8 shooting in 12 minutes.
The Knicks’ Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 24 points (8-15 FG, 1-2 3PT, 7-9 FT), 12 rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes. Late in the game, however, he appeared to hurt his knee in a collision with Nesmith. His health is something to monitor in the next couple of days.
The Knicks will try to keep their season alive at Madison Square Garden in Game 5 on Thursday.
CBS Sports will have more on this game soon.
