The outfielder is being benched on Tuesday against the Miami Marlins after making an “inappropriate comment” to manager Rob Thomson upon being pulled from Monday’s game.

Thomson did not reveal what Castellanos said after he removed him during the eighth inning for a defensive substitution. The Phillies went on to win 5-2.

In 72 games this season, Castellanos is hitting .278 with seven home runs and 36 RBIs.

The 33-year-old is being replaced in right field by Max Kepler while Kyle Schwarber is the designated hitter for the Phillies on Tuesday.

Philadelphia has won five straight games, including a sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays, to move to second in the NL East at 43-29.
