The start of Wednesday’s Chicago White Sox game against the Minnesota Twins at Rate Field was delayed as rain fell in the area. First pitch, initially scheduled for 1:10 p.m., came at 4:30 instead.

A message on the Rate Field videoboard read, in part, “Our intent is to play today’s game once the weather allows. We’ll provide an update closer to the initial start time.”

Wednesday is the rubber game of the series after the Sox won the opener 9-0 on Monday and the Twins won 8-3 on Tuesday.

The Sox are off Thursday and then head to Detroit for a three-game series against the Tigers beginning Friday. The Twins have their home opener at 3:10 p.m. Thursday against the Houston Astros.
