Let’s try that again, shall we?

After Saturday’s matchup between the Red Sox and Cardinals was thwarted by rain, the teams will return to Fenway Park Sunday for a split doubleheader.

The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1:35 p.m., and the nightcap will start at 7:10, as originally scheduled.

There has been some light rain in the Fenway area throughout the morning, making another delay a possibility.

Sean Newcomb will take the ball for the first game Saturday, with the Massachusetts native looking to bounce back from a difficult debut that saw him allow four earned runs on eight hits in just four innings in a loss to the Orioles.

St. Louis will turn to righthander Andre Pallante in the afternoon and Miles Mikolas in the evening. Boston has not announced a starter for Game 2.

CARDINALS (4-3): Nootbaar LF, Herrera C, Contreras 1B, Arenado 3B, Baker DH, Walker RF, Saggese 2B, Scott II CF, Winn SS

Pitching: RHP Andre Pallante (1-0, 3.60 ERA)

RED SOX (4-4): Duran LF, Devers DH, Bregman 3B, Casas 1B, Story SS, Refsnyder RF, Campbell CF, Hamilton 2B, Wong C

Pitching: LHP Sean Newcomb (0-1, 9.00 ERA)

Time: 1:35 p.m.

TV, radio: NESN, WEEI-FM 93.7

Cardinals vs. Newcomb: Nolan Arenado 7-15, Willson Contreras 1-5, Brendan Donovan 0-2, Lars Nootbaar 1-5

Red Sox vs. Pallante: Alex Bregman 0-0, Triston Casas 1-1, Rafael Devers 1-3, Jarren Duran 0-1, Rob Refsnyder 1-4, Trevor Story 1-2, Connor Wong 0-1

Stat of the day: After his forgettable start, Rafael Devers is 5 for 11 with just one strikeout over the last three games.

Notes: Trevor Story has five hits, including two home runs, and five RBIs during Boston’s three-game winning streak. His batting average is up to .250 after he began the season with one hit in his first 11 at-bats. … “Yeah, [Story] wants it — he wants it bad,” Sox manager Alex Cora said. “He feels like he hasn’t done his job the last few years. He’s been hurt. That’s it. And that’s what I’ve tried to remind him. My job as a manager is to take care of him. We have to.” … Newcomb has a 10.13 ERA in eight games against the Cardinals (one start), but he did not figure in any of the decisions. … Pallante is 1-1 with a 2.16 ERA in three career appearances (one start) against Boston.
