
BOSTON — The Red Sox and Guardians are scheduled to play the second game of their doubleheader at 6:10 p.m. Cleveland won the first game 5-4.
Manager Alex Cora will go with right-handed hitters Rob Refsnyder and Romy Gonzalez vs. 25-year-old rookie left-hander Doug Nikhazy.
Nikhazy is making his MLB debut. He has a 3.44 ERA (18 ⅓ innings, seven earned runs) in four starts for Triple-A Columbus this year.
Refsnyder will play right field with Wilyer Abreu sitting after be blasted a three-run homer in the first game.
Gonzalez will play first base with Triston Casas sitting after he went 1-for-3 with a walk in the first game.
Carlos Narváez will catch the second game after Blake Sabol was behind in the plate in Game 1.
Righty Walker Buehler (3-1, 4.23 ERA) will start for Boston.
