With another loss on Monday, the Boston Red Sox are now in the midst of a tailspin that has players frustrated and fans wondering if 2025 will go down as another lost season.
The Red Sox are 27-29 and in fourth place in the American League East following a 3-2 Memorial Day loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.
Boston scored one run each in the eighth and ninth innings respectively — Jarren Duran and Kristian Campbell each recorded a RBI. But despite the late-game surge, the Red Sox still fell one run short, falling for their third-straight loss.
The Red Sox are now 5-5 in their last 10 and seven games behind the New York Yankees, who sit at the top of the division. Knowing they haven’t played well enough as of late, players are wondering when their luck will turn around.
“I’m tired of losing. I’m tired of losing close games. We just need to figure it out … we suck right now,” said outfielder Rob Refsnyder after their latest defeat.
Refsynder walked twice in two plate appearances on Monday.
