Rick Pitino’s offseason overhaul at St. John’s is in full swing, as the Red Storm continue reshaping their roster with key transfer additions in pursuit of another Big East title.

The Hall of Fame coach has secured two major reinforcements: former Providence standout Bryce Hopkins and ex-Arizona State wing Joson Sanon, signaling the program’s intent to compete at the highest level while building for long-term success.

Despite winning the Big East and earning a top-five ranking in the AP Top 25 ahead of the NCAA Tournament and a No. 2 seed in the tournament, St. John’s suffered a disappointing second-round exit, falling 75-66 to 10-seed Arkansas in a March Madness upset.

The loss derailed what had been an exciting season and reinforced the need for roster upgrades. The additions of Hopkins and Sanon mark key steps in Pitino’s push for deeper postseason success.
