For the 21st season in a row, LeBron James has made an All-NBA Team. He continues to run up the score compared to other legends in that accolade.
James has now made an All-NBA in 95.45 percent of his career seasons, a ridiculous rate considering James has played 22 NBA campaigns. However, that would still put him behind Bob Pettit, who made an All-NBA in each of his 11 seasons. That’s a 100 percent All-NBA rate, for those keeping count.
On the one hand, it’s easier to get an outrageous All-NBA rate when you don’t have a long career. On the other hand, the league had no All-NBA 3rd Teams during Pettit’s era, of which James made four, so Pettit’s All-NBA Team appearances hold on pretty well in their own right.
Below, we have ranked the players with the highest rate of All-NBA appearances in their careers. A lot of active players crack the list, but keep in mind their rate is sure to go down as they age out of NBA stardom.
Not everyone has LeBron’s longevity.
For the record, for this exercise, we’re only listing players with at least five NBA seasons played. That means Alex Groza (two seasons played, two All-NBAs), Frankie Baumholtz (one season, one All-BAA), Ralph Beard (two seasons, two All-NBAs) and Maurice Stokes (three seasons, three All-NBAs) missed the cut here.
