The Braves, with an expected record of 35-32 despite their actual record of 29-38, are in buy mode. They’re seeking outfield and shortstop bats, and presumably bullpen help. But if they fall further, ace Chris Sale will at least inspire calls.

Sale would bring a haul in a thin market, but his $18 million team-friendly 2026 club option makes them disinclined to trade him.

Sandy Alcantara might be on the right track and should draw interest despite his 7.14 ERA, but Miami needs to avoid selling low. One rival: “The stuff is still there.”
