Vladimir Tarasenko joined the Red Wings in free agency last year, but already it appears as though he’s fed up, and now Frank Seravalli has suggested he wants out.

The Detroit Red Wings made some moves last summer to push for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2024/25, and while they improved overall as a team, they still fell well short of their eventual goal.

Now, it appears as though they may need to make some big moves this off-season, with Frank Seravalli noting that one key veteran may want out after a disappointing campaign and a disappointing role in Detroit last season.

There was word that Tarasenko wasn’t thrilled with his arrangement in Detroit, leaving open the possibility that he’s on the move this summer for a better fit.

That player is Vladimir Tarasenko, who signed a two-year, $9.5 million with the team last off-season, and while he’s also frustrated with his role, he didn’t perform as well as expected either, as he tallied just 11 goals and 33 points over 80 games played, hist wort output in a full season since his NHL debut way back in 2012/13 with St. Louis.

While the numbers don’t look good, Tarasenko can still be an important piece for a team, as he scored 9 points in 24 playoff games a year ago for the Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers, but clearly he isn’t thrilled with how he’s being used in Detroit.

This off-season, Steve Yzerman and the Red Wings were likely looking to make some changes and upgrades anyway, so now, it appears as though they could look to move Tarasenko in a separate deal or pair him up with an asset or two for a major upgrade.
