Tyrese Haliburton has been a standout player in the 2025 NBA Playoffs, leading the Indiana Pacers to a 2-0 lead – a tough score to comeback from – over the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals.
However, his father, John Haliburton, continues to be absent from the games due to a ban imposed after an incident during the first-round series against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The incident occurred when John confronted Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo courtside following the Pacers’ Game 5 victory. This led to the Pacers organization requesting that he refrain from attending games for the foreseeable future.
Barkley pushes for Haliburton senior’s return
Despite public apologies from Haliburton senior and support from his son, the ban remains in place. NBA analyst Charles Barkley has also advocated for lifting the ban, stating that John has “paid his dues” and should be allowed back into the arena.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the Pacers or the NBA regarding any change to Haliburton’s status. Therefore, he is not expected to attend Game 3 in Indiana.
