Zach Edey, Zaccharie Risacher join Stephon Castle on NBA All-Rookie team

The NBA announced its All-Rookie teams on Tuesday with Hawks forward Zaccharie Risacher and Grizzlies center Zach Edey joining Spurs Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle on the first team.

Grizzlies wing Jaylen Wells and Wizards center Alex Sarr also made the first team. Heat center Kel’el Ware, Bulls forward Matas Buzelis, Pelicans center Yves Missi, Trail Blazers center Donovan Clingan and Wizards guard Bub Carrington comprise the second team.

Castle was a unanimous first-team selection after winning Rookie of the Year with 92 out of 100 first-place votes for the award. Risacher earned 99 out of 100 first-team votes after being selected first overall in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Castle, (No. 4), Risacher (No. 1), Edey (No. 9), Sarr (No. 2), Buzelis (No. 11), Clingan (No. 7) and Carrington (No. 14) each earned All-Rookie honors after being selected in the lotery.

Wells earned the the third-most first-place with 96. The 39th selection in the draft, he is the only second-round pick to make either team. Wells started 74 games for the Grizzlies while averaging 10.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

Wells joins Grizzlies teammate Edey on the first team. Edey averaged 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game as a rookie after a standout college career at Purdue in which he was twice named the National Player of the Year.

Sarr and Carrington also earned All-Rookie honors as teammates.
